Congratulations to Frank Campisi U/12 and Jesse Eddy U/13 who represented East Keilor  in the EDFL matches over the week end.

Both boys did really well and Frankie was named U/12 player of the carnival.  Great work lads in proudly representing the Cougars.

With our first game only weeks away two of our under 14 boys are preparing to play their 50 games in the first round.

Congratulations to John Madi who has made the first cut of the Calder Cannons U/15 squad. The initial squad will train for the next six weeks and have a practice match against both the Northern Knights and Western Jets.

After this the squad will be reduced to 45 players and from there the Dick Reynolds squad will form the basis of boys that graduate through to U/18 TAC level.

John is a terrific young man who I have coached over the last few seasons. He is fearless in his pursuit of the ball and that combined with his excellent speed gives him every chance of going further. I spoke to John on the phone the other day and he tells me has grown a bit more and put on several kilos of muscle which can only help.

John’s selection is just another reminder to the boys who think that they need to player in a higher division to get recognized that this is not the case. Take it from me that if you are good enough, no matter where you are playing, recruiters will be watching you.

Just like Ashley Arrowsmith at the West Coast Eagles and now Tommy Hunter at Collingwood, who both played their juniors at EK, there is opportunity there if you are good enough.

Like Johnny ,keep following your dream and make sure the dream is at East Keilor!

What a great result for the club with the Under 10s winning their grand final on Sunday. It is the first flag for the club in quite a number of years and the club could not be happier.

Congratulations to the boys and the entire coaching staff and good luck in going back to back in 2010!

The wins just keep on coming for the junior in the EDFL Best and Fairest Awards;

Ben Caluzzi won the U10 div 3 EDFL B&F by 17 votes

Bruno Laguda was runner up in the U12 div 3 EDFL B&F by just one vote.

Both boys will be playing in GF’s this weekend at Keilor Recreation Reserve. U10′s at 9:30am, U12′s from 11:00am.  Make sure you get down and support all the boys as they hope to bring two Premiership Cups to Cougarland on Sunday!
